Welcome Boxes on Another Level

gift boxes

Welcoming your friends, family, and even co-workers to an event is one of the most enjoyable experiences we can think of.  Typically it is a time for celebration, happiness, relaxation (sometimes), and experience.  The art of the "welcome wagon" is growing to be just that, an absolute art form.

We are featuring, and frankly giving a huge high five to some of our favorite companies around making custom welcome boxes.  If you aren't familiar, custom welcome/gift boxes are a beautiful way to welcome your guests to your event.  For example:  A wedding hosted here in Colorado, guests may expect welcome boxes with a bottle opener to represent (and help consume :)) craft beer, which Colorado is becoming more heavily known for.  They may also expect to find, locally sourced beef jerky, or a travel size sunscreen to protect those cheeks from the high altitude sun.   So on and so forth, you get the picture.  Either way, companies are doing an exceptional job welcoming guests from around the globe.  Without further adieu,

Our local Go-To:  Bundles Gift Co.

Beautifully and expertly crafted, Bundles keeps it elegant, simple, fun, and valuable.  They feature gifts only found in Colorado and exceptional custom calligraphy.

It’s Friday, Let’s Have Some Wedding Dress Inspiration

With spring collections quickly nudging themselves onto racks everywhere, we are dying to see what 2015 brides will be wearing!  Last year was subtle, and lacy; giving the "Good Witch" style (Wizard of Oz...got it?), a much needed breather.  Both looks are exceptional in their own right but we are really hoping for more laid back, au naturale bridal looks. As we patiently wait for this years wedding dress trends and styles to present themselves, we have taken a look at a few of our trend setting 2014 Gold Leaf brides.  These three dresses bring a uniqueness and ever classic look to the table.  We feel we will see a lot more of these themes in the proceeding months.

The stripes on this dress give such a whimsical feel without being over the top.  It remains feminine and flowing with a gathered back.  Absolutely in love.

This 20's inspired dress is effortlessly elegant.  With subtle front and precise stitching detail, the dress fits and falls perfectly.

Our bride Brooke wears the most breath taking vintage lace gown for her wedding.  The back buttons continue all the way down the train which we LOVE.  The lace fabric in conjunction with the ultra romantic veil makes all of his absolutely stunning.

How is a girl to decide!?  Well this is just a little inspo.  Have fun and choose whatever makes you comfortable and feeling amazing.  Those qualities are sure to shine.

An International Engagement story; from Michigan to Paris!

At Gold Leaf Event Design & Production, we love a good proposal story!  Claire and Eduardo's engagement has all of our hearts throbbing!  Hear the story from directly from the groom here! From the Groom: As I think back on our international engagement story, I am not sure what I have done to deserve all the blessings I have gotten in life; I could argue that life has been unfairly kind to me. Of those blessings, the biggest one has been meeting the love of my life, my wife Claire.   2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_102 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_103 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_138 Everything in life seems to follow a natural process, the so called circle of life – a caterpillar turns into a cocoon, and eventually into a beautiful butterfly, two people meet, date, get engaged and get married- . For me, having spent two and a half enchanting years dating Claire did not seem to follow the natural process, after having known her for just a couple of weeks, I knew this was the woman I wanted to marry. 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_180 Our relationship had flourished into a beautiful bond, filled with joy, romance, adventure, and excitement. One of our favorite activities is exploring a foreign place; being immersed in the foreign culture, a romantic adventure. I thought that her love for romance, elegance, and culture would make Paris the ideal place to propose to her. I wanted to do something different than the “traditional” locations in the city, so I got in contact with the Louvre about getting access to the Crown Jewels room and setting up the engagement ring with the rest of the jewels. For insurance reasons they were unable to do so, but that they would gladly accommodate the room so that I could propose there. 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_043 After a few months of planning, and with the help of the best consultant, Gold Leaf Event Design & Production we planned a trip to Paris in November with the excuse to go to a ball. The day came and I asked her if she wanted to go to the museum with me, the crown jewels were being exhibited, and I knew how much she liked ancient and vintage jewels. I did not expect so many people to be at the exhibition so we had to wait for a while before the room emptied out. I tried to discretely ask the guard to take a photo while I proposed, but I guess my French was somewhat rustier than I thought. Finally, I approached her and talked to her a little bit about the history of the Jewels and what they each represented, and when we were about to finish the exhibition and she was looking inside the glass, I kneeled down –extremely nervous because there was a group of tourists just entering the room- and asked her to make me the happiest and luckiest man on earth. Let it be known that the best photos are probably in the other tourists’ cameras, the security guard did not do such a good job of capturing the moment and the pictures came out blurry. 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_224 2010_1120_Clare and Kiks_266 She said "yes", we called both of our families to share the joy of our enchanting day.
