Life is made up of highs and lows, trials and tribulations, failures and successes. It is no secret that our successes fuel our drive and help cope with the many failed attempts that lay behind us. Here at Gold Leaf, we are fortunate enough to see our successes everyday in the happy emails from brides and corporations alike. The "Thank you"'s, "we LOVE it"'s, and "we cannot wait"'s, are fulfilling enough as it is, but recently we reached a very proud moment in our careers when we were chosen as one of Martha Stewart Wedding's Top Wedding Planners. The un-rivaled hard work of owners Chelsea Dillon and Kate Ryan is no secret to any client or company within the industry, thus making this title a humbling, honorable, and much deserved achievement. We have respected and drawn immense inspiration from Martha Stewart Wedding's throughout the years, and are beyond proud to be in a category with such talent.
We put such effort into learning everything we can about the client as one of our first steps in creating an event. We want their day, whether it be a wedding, birthday, anniversary, or major conference, to feel unique and individualized. There are too many "cookie cutter" events and we strive to standout as the opposite. We are incredibly honored and so pleased that our passions show through our work. Congratulations to everyone who has been chosen, we hope one day we get to collaborate!
Welcoming your friends, family, and even co-workers to an event is one of the most enjoyable experiences we can think of. Typically it is a time for celebration, happiness, relaxation (sometimes), and experience. The art of the "welcome wagon" is growing to be just that, an absolute art form.
We are featuring, and frankly giving a huge high five to some of our favorite companies around making custom welcome boxes. If you aren't familiar, custom welcome/gift boxes are a beautiful way to welcome your guests to your event. For example: A wedding hosted here in Colorado, guests may expect welcome boxes with a bottle opener to represent (and help consume :)) craft beer, which Colorado is becoming more heavily known for. They may also expect to find, locally sourced beef jerky, or a travel size sunscreen to protect those cheeks from the high altitude sun. So on and so forth, you get the picture. Either way, companies are doing an exceptional job welcoming guests from around the globe. Without further adieu,
Our local Go-To: Bundles Gift Co.
Beautifully and expertly crafted, Bundles keeps it elegant, simple, fun, and valuable. They feature gifts only found in Colorado and exceptional custom calligraphy.
We just discovered this team while attending the Bliss and Bespoke retreat (blog up soon) in Charleston, South Carolina. Absolutely stunning work.
Based out of Vancouver, BC, we love By Broken Arrow for using local products, ready to display floral arrangements, and re-usable items.
Alright folks, with these suggestions you have no excuses! I love wine and chocolate, I will be checking my door step frequently!
In an industry that revolves around creativity, beauty and detail, the opportunity and desire to learn is never ending. Just a few weeks ago we were fortunate enough to attend Bliss & Bespoke, a luxury retreat for wedding planers located in Charleston, South Carolina. Not only was the retreat located in one of the most beautiful places in the country, our itinerary was packed with a wealth of information, friendly industry faces, and yes..beauty.
We began each day with a breakfast to socialize, network, and enjoy amazing food. Our days were compiled of meet and greets, classes, workshops, discussions, and more..amazing food.
We attended a floral design class directed by the ever talented Mindy Weiss. Here are very own Kate Ryan takes her new talents to a vibrantly gorgeous level.
Cannot get more beautiful.
Among the many thank you's we have to extend a great one to the River Oaks team for providing exceptional hospitality.
An exquisite venue, complete with modern English luxury, while still promising the old Southern charm lakeside, and moss hanging from oak branches.
This retreat comes highly recommended by the Gold Leaf girls, as we experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity, and are forever thankful for the experience and knowledge soaked in from all who attended. Until next time, Charleston!
Here at Gold Leaf Event we absolutely adore exploration so when we had the opportunity to see Monteverdi, Tuscany we were there in a heart beat! So we wanted to share some of our memories from our Italian adventure with you all!
After a long day of traveling from Florence, we found ourselves driving down a winding road. On either side of us we could see an abundance of lush greenery spilling over the hillsides.
When we arrived at Hotel Monteverdi in Tuscany we were checked in and met in the enoteca (wine repository) for Prosecco and refreshments. Doesn't this look like the ideal Italian wedding venue!
After, we were whisked away on a guided tour of Castiglioncello Del Trinoro, the medieval village where Monteverdi is located. Afterwards we enjoyed sunset cocktails at the Monteverdi Library. The food was served buffet-style at one of Monteverdi’s stunning villas . Later we returned to our cozy six-bedroom Villa Muri Antichi, we couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow had in store for us!
That next day we woke to the stunning views of Val d’ Orcia and were instantly filled with excitement! We had a light breakfast and a refreshing yoga class. We then had a blast learning how to make pasta at a cooking class with a lunch and wine to follow. It was absolutely incredible to learn some of the Italian cooking secrets from such talented chefs! Luckily for us there was another wine tasting to follow at the Castel di Brolio. This led to the Relais La Suvera for a Tuscan Bites catered dinner which was the perfect way to end the day.
The next morning we departed Monteverdi for La Foce and enjoyed a tour of their home and gardens of Villa La Foce. The vila had been restored to it’s original beauty and the English gardens were impeccably manicured. This is another ideal location for an Italian Wedding in Tuscany.
After the tour we eagerly made our way to dinner. We arrived at the Castiglioncello Church at Hotel Monteverdi for a real treat of incredible live music. Later, we enjoyed cocktails and pizza, along with a romantic concert and a formal dinner at for the last night. The late night show of Cararet in Muri Antichi is a performance that we will never forget!
Our Tuscany adventure was such a wonderful and whimsical weekend that truly captured our hearts forever. Thanks so much to our hosts David Beahm and Christina Matteucci, along with Hotel Monteverdi! We were able to form wonderful new friendships across the globe which left us with unforgettable ideas for our future events to come! If you are ever interested in an Italian wedding we know the perfect location!
