The Problem with ‘Pinterest Perfect’ Event Planning

Pinterest Perfect Event Planning

As not only event planners, but also connoisseurs of the event production field, we know it’s our job to deliver. And deliver BIG! Our clients become friends whom, after a few conversations, usually start feeling more like family. We recognize the importance and significance of every milestone event, and we always commit to working our feathered tails off to ensure everything is just p... Whoa, hold up! See what almost happened there? That sneaky, diabolical 'Perfect' word! Planning your perfect event is one of our goals, but Pinterest perfect event planning has its parameters. This heavy-weighted, two-syllable ‘P’ word trips up many laid back brides, MOB’s, and most others invested in the event planning process! Perfection can be strived for, but will it ever be attained? Most likely, no. We attribute this to most people taking that word and applying it to every detail- "the cake must be perfect", "I haven't found the perfect dress yet" (sullen longing seen in eyes), "the weather better be perfect!" When perfect is a one-size-fits-all box, with dimensions set by outside standards like Pinterest, we say forget it! Throw away perfection, forget about everything being "Pinterest perfect" and focus on what is YOU!

Letting Your Personality Shine Through on Your Wedding Day

At Gold Leaf, we compile a list of our favorite wedding day trends every season. We’re always looking ahead to see what new elements are being introduced, but we also like to remind brides to stay true to themselves and their hubbys-to-be. Let your personality shine through on your wedding day!   Brown-88 One of the biggest concerns we hear from our brides is trying to force a trend or incorporate a last minute idea because it's the 'it' thing at the moment. We work with many brides that have a wide range of tastes and ideas. We’re here to help guide each one through her wedding planning process. Keep in mind that your grandchildren will likely see your wedding photos one day and if you’re wearing a tree branch crown with a black tie gown, they’re probably going to wonder what grandma was thinking the day she said 'I do'. View More: http://jason-gina.pass.us/jessica-andrewBlack tie gowns (spoiler alert: black tie is 'in' again) are ah-mah-zing, as are delicate, earthy flower crowns, but we can tell when someone is incorporating a trend for the sake of it. And we recommend against that. There are subtle ways to bring in a trend you like, which we will go over as wedding season gets underway. Let your personality shine through on your wedding dayGold Leaf Brides, we love you as you are. We admire your beauty, love and willingness to cut a rug. And those are all the qualities you’ll need on your wedding day. So, do not worry if you can’t incorporate a seasonal trend, one that will have you shaking your head in a few years time, into your big day. Spring Is A Wonderful Thing!

Fresh, Bright, and Silly

Spring is a wonderful thing

Springtime has arrived and spring is a wonderful thing. Here at Gold Leaf we’re excited, actually, straight giddy for the new season. Spring is without a doubt the most visually expressive time of year. So, with that in mind, shed off some layers, put on some brighter ones, and let’s have a bit of fun.

Spring is a wonderful thing

Here are some of our favorites this spring: Mint Marvel: Freshen up with a mint, white rum concoction: the classic mojito. Keep the libation simple with the basic ingredients or give it a spring theme by adding strawberries and basil leaves. Pink Madness: Just embrace the pink. We know we are! March, April, and May are the perfect months to wake up and smell the hydrangeas and roses. This season, we recommend putting these flowers in a cascade bouquet for a group of beautiful bridesmaids or a lavish table scape. Spring is a wonderful thingSpring is a wonderful thing Botanical Settings: Nothing looks more breathtaking centered on a table then orchids in water. Surround the flowers with candles or extra lighting underneath for a special glow. Plus, radiant orchid is the color of the year and one of the prettiest tones this flower comes in. Citrus Treat: A lemon cake tastes like spring and has the look to match it. This is one of our favorite desserts that brightens up any party and satisfies all sour and sweet cravings. It’s the perfect indulgence for the next bridal or baby shower you attend.

For the boys: This is no time to shy away from pastels, guys. An attractive, orange boutonniere like this one goes superbly against a black or dark grey suit. orange

Wedding Rings For Men

Choosing a wedding ring is quite the process especially when you are a guy who has never worn any jewelry before. Choosing a wedding ring is just like choosing to be branded for life. We have noticed that there is a growing appeal of non-traditional wedding rings for men. wedding Ring for men Most of the men we know, hang out with, and marry, tend to be very active. They are always skiing, mountain biking, building, working construction, or going to the gym. None of these activities are the most conducive to wearing a large wedding ring or thick band. At Gold Leaf, we believe that the “now” trend should not usurp control over the wishes and dreams of the couple. For some, the idea of tattooed wedding bands may resonate, while others may be rushing to the jewelry store in desire of a more traditional route with diamonds and precious metals. However, there are many other options for wedding rings for men including:
  • - Wooden Rings
  • - Cement Rings
  • - Titanium Rings
  • - Deer Antler Rings
The choice is entirely up to you…

Antler wedding ring

These are just a few of the many options that are an alternative to the classic wedding rings and bands available for men.

Tattooed wedding ring

Wedding band tattoos have gained popularity in the last few years and are a great alternative for wedding rings for men. Wedding tattoos rid shoppers over the common anxieties that arise when picking a jewel or band for their betrothed. Questions like: White gold or platinum? How many carats? What cut? How much of my annual income should I spend? No longer exist. For some couples, a tattoo ring helps signify the permanency of their love and devotion to one another. Because, although it may fade, a tattoo lasts a lifetime.

Those who have a history of losing jewelry or who work in a trade where it’s hard to wear a large rock or band on their finger may find a wedding ring tattoo more acquiescent to their lifestyle. The design is completely customizable with endless variations for each couple. The tattoo does not necessarily have to wrap around the wedding finger like a ring. It can be an initial, date, or symbol placed on the finger or palm. What is your favorite wedding ring for men? Read our blog post on how to let your personality Shine through on your wedding day.
